Soldier-Scientist Has the Right Stuff

Flying helicopters and studying geology might not seem related, but for Brown alum Kathleen Scanlon, the two go hand-in-hand. In this month's Brown Alumni Magazine, I wrote a piece about Scanlon, who is currently completing flight school with the RI National Guard. When she finishes her training, Scanlon will go back to working as a planetary geologist but plans to stay involved with the National Guard, as well.Read the story here: Eye on the Sky.
