Izilwane

Starting this month, I will be contributing to Izilwane, an online magazine that seeks to connect humans to other animals and the global ecosystem. The word "izilwane" means "animals" in Zulu. Here is a little more from the website:We believe that as human beings become aware that we are merely one of many species and not separate from local and global ecosystems, we will choose to live in ways that value all species. We focus on the role of human beings' perceptions in the ongoing loss of biodiversity, while simultaneously illustrating that our own human survival depends upon the well-being of other species and healthy ecosystems. As a multi-media information forum, IZILWANE uses storytelling, articles, fieldwork experience, concept papers, photojournalism, photography, video, and other media to "connect the human animal to the global ecosystem."I look forward to working with this great organization.
