My first piece for MBL (Marine Biological Laboratory)’s Catalyst Magazine just came out. It’s a profile of U. Benjamin Kaupp’s research on how sperm find the egg. He works on this question in sea urchins, but his findings may have implications for human fertility. Kaupp has found that sperm are surprisingly sophisticated, with complex computational and navigational abilities.
